Weeeeeeeell, Maybe there is and maybe their isn't. Just another human's interpretation is what I think. Because to every writer their poetry is beautiful so even if only they alone feel the words in their heart then it is not bad poetry. Having said that below is a bad Poetry Site. Why not gather your residents and write a poem with them.
Start out with What summer means to me....
and let your residents each give an answer.
Make their answers rhyme and !!!
You have all written a poem. I have done this with several themes
and had them published in our hometown news.
You would be suprised how great they turn out.

Advertise in your local news that your facility is having a poetry contest ages? say 12 to 17. Give address poems are to be mailed to and a deadline date(be sure to have entries include their address also). Have a resident group meet at least once a week(more if a lot of entries) for say 2 months to read the poems and vote on the best one that day. The last week read all the poems selected the previous weeks. Vote on 1st,2nd and 3rd place.Notify the winners and have an Awards Ceremony at your facility. Be sure to invite your local newspaper to take pictures and publish the winners. I always have our Resident Council Officers sign the Awards & Certificates.
